AML Framework
Overview
ClientCheck is an anti-money-laundering (AML) screening and due-diligence platform operated by Altieri Firm LLC. This page summarises the regulatory framework ClientCheck is built around and how the platform helps regulated businesses meet their obligations under UAE law.
Regulatory Basis
The UAE's AML/CFT regime is established by Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organisations, together with its implementing Cabinet Decisions and the guidance issued by the relevant supervisory authorities. The law requires designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs) (including law firms, real-estate brokers, dealers in precious metals and stones, and corporate service providers) to identify, assess, and mitigate money-laundering risk across their client relationships.
How ClientCheck Supports Compliance
ClientCheck operationalises the core customer due-diligence (CDD) duties imposed by the law:
- Customer screening — every client is screened in real time against international sanctions lists, PEP registries, watchlists, and adverse-media sources.
- Risk-based assessment — each screening returns a clear disposition (cleared, review, flagged, or blocked) so you can apply standard, enhanced, or no-engagement treatment proportionate to risk.
- Enhanced Due Diligence — flagged subjects can be escalated to an Enhanced Report for deeper analysis before a relationship proceeds.
- Record keeping — every screening produces a timestamped Screening Record stored permanently in your audit log, supporting the statutory record-retention requirement.
Record Retention
Screening Records and the underlying due-diligence data are retained for a minimum of five (5) years in line with UAE statutory requirements, and are produceable to a supervisory authority on request. Records are retained even after a subscription ends so they remain available for the mandated period.
Important Note
ClientCheck is a compliance tool, not a substitute for your own AML programme or for legal advice. Responsibility for AML compliance, including the assessment of screening results and any onboarding decision, remains with the regulated business.
